The Patriots: What Happened?

The final score to the game was 41-14 Chiefs over the Patriots.

The Patriots

The game last night against the Chiefs was a complete disaster for the New England Patriots. It almost looked like the team forgot to show up. The Patriots looked like a bunch of High School Football Players who were invited to take on the Chiefs for fun.

If the Patriots were to receive a great for the performance of last night, it would be easy to say they got an F. They just looked horrible. To begin with someone, Tom Brady had one of the worst games in his career. He was only able to throw for 159 yards, he only completed 61% of his passes and only threw 1 touchdown. The big kicker which made this one of the worst games of his career was that he threw 2 interceptions. This is almost unheard of for Tom Brady.

The rest of the team did no better, on a total of 16 rushing attempts, they were only able to pick up 75 yards which is an average of 4.7 yards per carry, not to bad, but they weren't able to use this to their advantage. Tom Brady also fumbled the ball twice, but only lost the possession once.

The Chiefs

The Chiefs on the other hand did amazing last night. They handed New England their second worst loss in their history. Congratulations to the Chiefs. Alex Smith was the leader of the crew and arguably the star player of the game, he went 20/26 and threw for 248 yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions.

This wasn't they end for the Chiefs though, they had 207 yards on the ground with 1 touchdown in the hands of Charles. With these two offensive pieces put together, they were able to crank out 28 points on offense. You ask yourself, what about the other points. The answer is the defense. They were able to force turnovers and allow the offense to get down the field and score the other 6 points. The other 7 points occurred after a pick-6.

The Summary

Overall, if New England wants to make it to the playoffs this year, they better step up their game and reduce embarrassing losses as this one. The Chiefs on the other hand should keep executing at this level so they can make it to the playoffs and possibly beyond.

Was it Worth "Waiting All Day for a Sunday Night?"

Saints vs. Cowboys

This definitely wasn't the Sunday Night Football outcome that everyone was hoping for. You could have almost not considered this as a no contest game. Although it is great if you are a Cowboys fan, but if you are just a regular fan, "waiting all day for a Sunday night." this is not the game you were waiting for.

The Cowboys walked away from this one with a 38-17 victory over the Saints. Tony Romo went 22/29 with 262 yards in the air and 3 touchdowns. Not only did the passing game work good for the Cowboys, but they were also dominant in the running game. With 190 yards, they were literally running over the Saints defense who just didn't show up today. They allowed Dallas to march down the field on almost every drive. Murray was the leading rusher for the Cowboys with 149 yards on 24 carries, which is an average of 6.2 yards per carry. Coming into this game, Murray was the leading rusher in the league and tonight he showed everyone why. So far this season, DeMarco Murray has 534 yards on 99 carries which calculated to an average of 5.4 yards per carry. He is well on his way to a 1,000+ yard season.

The Saints looked horrible during the game. Viewers were expecting them team to put up a good fight against the Cowboys, but the exact opposite occurred. It is almost as if the Saints team forgot to show up for the game. Drew Brees threw for 340 yards and he went 32/44 which equates to a completion percentage of 72.7%. He was able to throw for 2 touchdowns, but in the process, he also threw a pick. This wasn't the end of the Saints hardships during the game, they also had 2 fumbles, which they lost both. Their running game consisted of 104 yards on the ground, but only because of a 62 yard run by Robinson. If it weren't for this run, the Saints would have had only about 40 yards on the ground.

  1. Overall, the Saints didn't want the game to end this way and neither did Saints fans, but it was almost as if they brought in the high school team to play against the Cowboys. The Cowboys on the other hand were one of the best looking teams this week and are hoping to continue this trend into the future weeks, especially in the division games that are coming up in the next few weeks. This was the game that both the Cowboys and Cowboy fans were looking for as a boost for their season and for the Cowboys to be holding high heads going into next weeks game against the Houston Texans.

Sunday Football 4:00pm: The Results

They following are the reviews for the 4:00pm games:

Jaguars vs. Chargers - The Chargers were able to pull away from this one with a 33-14 victory over the Jaguars. The Jaguars haven't shown enough in any of their games this year and as a result they are now 0-4 going into week 5. Bortles was able to squeeze out 253 yards in the air with 1 touchdown, but in doing that, he also threw 2 interceptions in the game. As for their running game, they were able to pick up 85 yards on the ground with 1 touchdown in which Gerhart was responsible for. The Chargers on the other hand had 377 yards in the air with 3 touchdowns all on the shoulders of Rivers. As for the running game, they did horrible this week with only being able to pick up 42 yards with no touchdowns. The teams leading rusher was Oliver with 23 yards on 9 attempts. Overall the Chargers dominated the game today which ultimately led to the Chargers victory over the Jaguars.

Falcons vs. Vikings - The Vikings seemed unstoppable today with a win of 41-28 over the Falcons. Ryan had 298 yards in the air with 3 touchdowns, but h threw 2 interceptions. These interceptions really hurt the Falcons in this game as the Vikings were able to capitalize on these turnovers. As for their running game, the Falcons were able to put up 123 yards on the ground and 1 touchdown. Smith was responsible for the single rushing touchdown. This wasn't enough to keep up with the Vikings who had 317 yards in the air, but no touchdowns or interceptions. All of the points for the Vikings either came because of rushing, which they had 4 or special teams. In the running game, the Vikings had an astonishing 241 yards. Of the 4 touchdowns, 3 of them were because of Asiata and one of them was because of the quarterback, Bridgewater. Overall, the Vikings dominated this game and as a result they came away with the victory.

Eagles vs. 49ers - By the look of the first half, it would seem as if the Eagles would take this one by a long shot. After the half, the Eagles weren't able to put up any more points. This lead to the 26-21 49er victory over the Eagles. It wasn't the Eagles offense that did it for them in the first half, but it was special teams and their defense. The offense did nothing for them. Foles only had 195 yards today with no touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The running game was no better, in fact they did even worse. They were only able to put up 22 yards. If it weren't able to put up points on special teams, this game would have been a shut out. The 49ers on the other hand, although they didn't do so great in the first half, they were able to keep the pace steady to get the win over the Eagles. In the air, they were only able to put up 218 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The running game was what won it for the 49ers. They were able to put up 218 yards on the ground with Gore being the leading rusher for the team this week. Although they were unable to get any touchdowns in the running game, they were able to get the offense down the field to be able to score. The strength of their running game was really what put this one in the bag for them.

Sunday Football 1:00pm: The Results

The following are the results for the 1:00pm games:

Panthers vs. Ravens - The Ravens took this one 38-10. The Panthers looked weak in this game, they had trouble in both the passing game and the running game. The Ravens on the other hand over 300 yards in the air and over 100 yards on the ground. They looked healthy this week.

Packers vs. Bears - The Packers took this one 38-17. Arron Rodgers did amazing this week with over 300 yards in the air and 4 touchdown passes. As for their running game, it didn't look too great, but Lacy had a touchdown run. The Bears on the other hand had played a balanced game today. Cutler had 256 yards in the air today, but by throwing 2 interceptions, it blew the game for them today. They had an astonishing 265 yards on the ground, and it is surprising to see that they only got 17 points in this weeks game.

Bills vs. Texans - The Texans walked away from this one with a 23-17 victory over the Bills. Both of the teams did well in the air this game, but both Manuel and Fitzpatrick threw 2 interceptions in the game. The Bills also had about 100 yards on the ground where the Texans struggled with only 37 yards on the ground with Fitzpatrick leading the team in rushing yards. It seems as if Watt's pick-6 is what won the game for the Texans today.

Titans vs. Colts - The Colts were the clear leaders in this game with a 41-17 victory over the Titans. The Titans weren't even able to put up 200 yards in the air today, but they were able to put up about 100 yards on the ground today. Luck was arguably the best in this game with 4 touchdown passes and almost 400 yards in the air. He did throw an interception though. The Colts were also able to put up about 100 yards on the ground today, but Luck's amazing performance this week is what won it for the Colts.

Lions vs. Jets - The Lions were able to take this one with a 24-17 victory over the Jets. Stafford was able to put up just under 300 yards in the air today with 2 touchdown passes. The running game for them also went well this week because they were able to put up 88 yards. Calvin Johnson was barely a factor this week with only 2 catches for 12 yards. The Jets were only able to put up 209 yards in the air with 1 touchdown pass and 1 interception, both on the shoulders of Smith. They were able to put up 132 yards on the ground and one touchdown which Johnson was responsible for.

Dolphins vs. Raiders - The Dolphins were able to take this one with a 38-14 victory over the Raiders. This game was played in London today where Tannehill was able to throw for 278 yards in the air with 2 touchdown passes and only 1 interception. They were also able to put up 157 yards on the ground. They had 2 touchdowns in the running game both on the shoulders of Miller. The Raiders split the passing game between Carr and McGloin this week with Carr being able to put up 146 yards with 1 touchdown and 1 interception and McGloin had 129 yards in the air with 1 touchdown, but he threw 2 interceptions. The combination of these 3 interceptions really hurt the Raiders this week and ultimately helped them lose the game. In the running game they were only able to put up 53 yards.

Buccaneers vs. Steelers - This exciting game came down to the last seconds in which the Buccaneers were able to put together a winning drive to take it 27-24 over the Steelers. Glennon was able to put up 302 yards in the air today with 2 touchdown passes and 1 interception. His completion percentage this week was horrible this week at only 50%. In the running game, they were only able to put up 63 yards and 1 touchdown which Martin was responsible for. The Steelers did much better in the air with 314 yards in the air by Roethlisberger and 3 touchdown passes. Brown also got an attempt in the air today and was able to complete it for 17 yards. As for their running game, they were able to put up a healthy 85 yards mostly by Bell, but there were no touchdowns in the running game this week.

Monday Night Football Week 4 Preview

This weeks match-up is between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs

This match-up begins at 8:30 pm eastern time

You can view it on ESPN or NFL Redzone

The Patriots are currently hot and on a 2 game winning streak. With Tom Brady not gaining as many passing yards as he used to, only averaging 196.3 yards per game, it is hard to rely on the running game all the time. The Patriots need to increase their offensive performance if they want to continue to succeed in the future of the season. The Chiefs are looking to continue their winning streak which began last week after a win against the Miami Dolphins. In order to win this game, they need to keep Tom Brady and his offense at bay and work on scoring points of their own. Overall, it should be a pretty exciting Monday Night Football game.

Let's check out the stats for each of the teams:

Clay Matthews

Clay Matthews is a 4 time Pro Bowl linebacker and it may be so that he is one of the keys to the success of the Packers defense. Clay Matthews has been more successful against the Bears than any other team he has faced. He has the most sacks per game against the Bears.

Clay Matthews was listed a probable for this Sunday's game, but it is not certain that he will be able to play. Due to not being able to play because of a broken thumb, Matthews was unable to play both games against the Bears last year.

Falcons vs. Vikings Preview

This match-up is at 4:25 pm eastern time

With the Falcons holding the number one spot in points earned per game, total offensive yards, and total passing yards, it is hard to say that his offense isn't one of the best currently in the league. With an impressive Thursday Night Football appearance last week putting up 56 points against the Buccaneers, this team is currently hot and is ready to put up some more points. The Vikings are very much the opposite, this team is looking to snap a 2 game losing streak and to do it this week, they will need to put in much more effort to ether keep up with of stop the Falcons from dominating the game as they did back on last Thursday night.

Let's check out the stats for each of the teams:

This match-up is at 4:25 pm eastern time

You can view it on FOX or NFL Network

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to be one of the best teams in the league, scoring 2nd in the categories of points earned and total offense passing yards gained. This almost unstoppable team is going to be a challenge for the 49ers. The 49ers haven't been looking like the team to beat as they were last season. Ranking 3rd in the NFC West, they will be looking to regain some lost ground by putting up an impressive performance this week. This is going to be one of the most exciting games of the week so don't miss it.

Jaguars vs. Chargers Preview

This match-up is at 4:05 pm eastern time

You can watch it on CBS or NFL RedZone

The Jacksonville Jaguars are not doing so well this season, as they have been beaten in every one of their games thus far. With a record of 0 - 3, this desperate team is looking for their first victory. To do so, their defense needs to wake up and stop allowing the opposing teams to march down the field and score constantly. Their offense is ranked number 31 or 32 in total yards, which will hurt them if they are looking for some big points. The San Diego Charger on the other hand, are currently on a 2 game winning streak and are showing no sign of slowing down. They will pose to be another big challenge for the weakened Jaguars.
