Sunday Football 4:00pm: The Results

They following are the reviews for the 4:00pm games:

Jaguars vs. Chargers - The Chargers were able to pull away from this one with a 33-14 victory over the Jaguars. The Jaguars haven't shown enough in any of their games this year and as a result they are now 0-4 going into week 5. Bortles was able to squeeze out 253 yards in the air with 1 touchdown, but in doing that, he also threw 2 interceptions in the game. As for their running game, they were able to pick up 85 yards on the ground with 1 touchdown in which Gerhart was responsible for. The Chargers on the other hand had 377 yards in the air with 3 touchdowns all on the shoulders of Rivers. As for the running game, they did horrible this week with only being able to pick up 42 yards with no touchdowns. The teams leading rusher was Oliver with 23 yards on 9 attempts. Overall the Chargers dominated the game today which ultimately led to the Chargers victory over the Jaguars.

Falcons vs. Vikings - The Vikings seemed unstoppable today with a win of 41-28 over the Falcons. Ryan had 298 yards in the air with 3 touchdowns, but h threw 2 interceptions. These interceptions really hurt the Falcons in this game as the Vikings were able to capitalize on these turnovers. As for their running game, the Falcons were able to put up 123 yards on the ground and 1 touchdown. Smith was responsible for the single rushing touchdown. This wasn't enough to keep up with the Vikings who had 317 yards in the air, but no touchdowns or interceptions. All of the points for the Vikings either came because of rushing, which they had 4 or special teams. In the running game, the Vikings had an astonishing 241 yards. Of the 4 touchdowns, 3 of them were because of Asiata and one of them was because of the quarterback, Bridgewater. Overall, the Vikings dominated this game and as a result they came away with the victory.

Eagles vs. 49ers - By the look of the first half, it would seem as if the Eagles would take this one by a long shot. After the half, the Eagles weren't able to put up any more points. This lead to the 26-21 49er victory over the Eagles. It wasn't the Eagles offense that did it for them in the first half, but it was special teams and their defense. The offense did nothing for them. Foles only had 195 yards today with no touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The running game was no better, in fact they did even worse. They were only able to put up 22 yards. If it weren't able to put up points on special teams, this game would have been a shut out. The 49ers on the other hand, although they didn't do so great in the first half, they were able to keep the pace steady to get the win over the Eagles. In the air, they were only able to put up 218 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception. The running game was what won it for the 49ers. They were able to put up 218 yards on the ground with Gore being the leading rusher for the team this week. Although they were unable to get any touchdowns in the running game, they were able to get the offense down the field to be able to score. The strength of their running game was really what put this one in the bag for them.
