The final score to the game was 41-14 Chiefs over the Patriots.
The Patriots
The game last night against the Chiefs was a complete disaster for the New England Patriots. It almost looked like the team forgot to show up. The Patriots looked like a bunch of High School Football Players who were invited to take on the Chiefs for fun.
If the Patriots were to receive a great for the performance of last night, it would be easy to say they got an F. They just looked horrible. To begin with someone, Tom Brady had one of the worst games in his career. He was only able to throw for 159 yards, he only completed 61% of his passes and only threw 1 touchdown. The big kicker which made this one of the worst games of his career was that he threw 2 interceptions. This is almost unheard of for Tom Brady.
The rest of the team did no better, on a total of 16 rushing attempts, they were only able to pick up 75 yards which is an average of 4.7 yards per carry, not to bad, but they weren't able to use this to their advantage. Tom Brady also fumbled the ball twice, but only lost the possession once.
The Chiefs
The Chiefs on the other hand did amazing last night. They handed New England their second worst loss in their history. Congratulations to the Chiefs. Alex Smith was the leader of the crew and arguably the star player of the game, he went 20/26 and threw for 248 yards with 3 touchdowns and no interceptions.
This wasn't they end for the Chiefs though, they had 207 yards on the ground with 1 touchdown in the hands of Charles. With these two offensive pieces put together, they were able to crank out 28 points on offense. You ask yourself, what about the other points. The answer is the defense. They were able to force turnovers and allow the offense to get down the field and score the other 6 points. The other 7 points occurred after a pick-6.
The Summary
Overall, if New England wants to make it to the playoffs this year, they better step up their game and reduce embarrassing losses as this one. The Chiefs on the other hand should keep executing at this level so they can make it to the playoffs and possibly beyond.
