5 Running Backs to Target for Week 6

With the Chiefs and Saints on a bye this week, Jamaal Charles, Knile Davis, Pierre Thomas and Khiry Robinson are unavailable to play in your fantasy lineup. There are a few guys that will be able to replace these running backs for the week and chances are that they are still available because they are owned in fewer than 50% of fantasy leagues.

Jerick McKinnon, Minnesota Vikings

Jerick McKinnon
He is owned in only 44 percent of leagues. Although he doesn't do the "dirty work" down by the goal line, his role as part of the offense is on the increase. In week 5, he was able to put up an amazing 152 yards and one touchdown on 19 carries. With Detroit on the schedule next, it will truly test McKinnon's ability as a running back as well as the rest of the offense. I will be interesting to see how he performs in this game.

Andre Williams, New York Giants

Andre Williams
He is owned in only 26 percent of leagues. He is currently the replacement for the hurt Rashad Jennings. His role will not  be permanent, but is a good replacement in the mean time. As a rookie, he as already shown the league why he is here. He was able to put up 65 yards and a touchdown in a short game against the Atlanta Falcons. Next is the Philadelphia Eagles and with his abilities, he will be able to soak up a few more yards and touchdowns.

Branden Oliver, San Diego Chargers

Branden Oliver
He is currently owned by only 14 percent of leagues. After stepping up to the plate because of Donald Brown's concussion, he was able to put up 182 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries in the 31-0 win against the New York Jets. With the Oakland Raiders next on the list, Oliver should be a the top of your running back replacement list. Keep an eye on him because he looks explosive and could have a prominent lead on a team in the coming years.

Ronnie Hillman, Denver Broncos

Ronnie Hillman
He is owned in only 9 percent of leagues. With Montee Ball suffering from a groin injury, he was the next man up to take over the open position. With Ball expected at least the next few weeks, he could possibly take over the permanent starting position. He was able to put up 64 yards on 15 carries in last weeks game against the Arizona Cardinals. With a history of fumbles and struggling in pass protection, it will be possible that Hillman has an equal number of snaps with C.J. Anderson.

Benny Cunningham, St. Louis Rams

Benny Cunningham
He is owned by a slim 5 percent of leagues. As a replacement for Zac Stacy who was forced out of Sunday's game with a calf strain, it was Cunningham's job to finish what was started. After he came in last game, he was able to get in 10 touches, in which he was able to put up 71 total yards and a touchdown. He was clearly the driving force behind the Rams offense in the second half. Next the Rams take on the San Francisco 49ers, which would put both Stacy, who is expected to play next week, and Cunningham to the test.
