Peyton Manning and Tom Brady Make History, Again

These two individuals have done it again. History his changed because of the influences of these two men.

What History?

Between Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, the record books are getting full. They are have been in a friendly rivalry for many years now. With Manning being 38 and Brady 37, these two only have a few more seasons left, but man will they be good ones.

Peyton Manning

In this weeks game against the Arizona Cardinals, Peyton Manning threw his 500th touchdown pass to Julius Thomas. History was rewritten with 4 minutes and 43 seconds left in the first quarter in Sunday's game. He reached this milestone after only 244 regular season games. He also was able to finish this game with a career high of 479 yards and 4 touchdowns in the 41-20 victory over the Cardinals.

"Throwing touchdowns is a part of playing football," Manning said. "But I guess for me, throwing touchdowns has helped teams I've been a part of win a lot of football games. I don't think I've thrown a lot of touchdowns that didn't mean something. Any time you have a big lead, all the years I played in Indianapolis, the coaches would always take us out, and if we were getting bad they'd take us out, so any ones that I've thrown usually resulted in our team trying to win the game or win the game, so I think about it that way."

Broncos head coach, John Fox, was pleased to be a part of Peyton's history by stating, "It's pretty incredible what Peyton accomplished."

Along with his 500th touchdown pass in this weeks game, he also completed his 13th 400+ yard passing game which tied him with Dan Marino for 1st place.

Tom Brady

In this weeks game against the Bengals, Tom Brady threw for his 50,000th yard. This pass went to, who but, Rob Gronkowski for 27 yards to surpass this milestone. Tom Brady became only the 6th quarterback to reach this truly amazing milestone. His total is now at 50,232 which sits him in sixth overall behind only 2 active quarterbacks, Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.

Brady only had a few short words to describe his excitement, "It's awesome."

In the game he threw for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns in the game.

With 365 regular season touchdown passes, he is far from that of Peyton, but it is still something for his to be proud of.

The Quarterback Matchup

Brady is 10-5 against Peyton Manning. Brady also has 3 Super Bowl rings where Manning only has 1. One thing Manning has on his side are the records. Manning has the most single season passing touchdowns, previously held by Brady, and career game-winning drives in NFL history, as well as the best career sack percentage. He also ranks second all-time in pass attempts, completions, yards, touchdowns and quarterback rating.

In 2011, Tom Brady said, "To me, he's the greatest of all-time," talking about Peyton Manning.

Last season during the playoffs, Peyton Manning stated, "Tom Brady has just been an outstanding quarterback."

These two truly amazing have had a friendly rivalry going ever since the years of college and it has helped lead to the success of each of these elite quarterbacks.

They both only have a few more years left in the league, but by the time of their retirements, it will be clear that there presence will be known for many yards to come.
