Who to Pick?

Both teams are 2-2 and both are coming off of wins. The Chiefs and the 49ers are close in execution levels, but I would have to pick the Chiefs because of their outstanding defense.

Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs have been going great this season, obviously not a good as last season, but they have been executing at a high level. The offense for the Chiefs has been mediocre, nothing special mainly because of the passing game. In passing yards, the Chiefs are currently ranked in 27th. Smith needs to increase the amount of yards per game, although he is fine in all other aspects, I'm sure fans are looking for Smith to take more control over the offense. He has thrown 7 touchdowns, with only 3 interceptions, but that touchdown number could be higher. The running game has done great this season, averaging 145.2 yards per game and is ranked 4th in the league for total rushing yards per game. The defense has done very well this season, by only letting up an average of 19.8 yards per game. With this set up, they stand in a good position for this season.

San Francisco 49ers

The 49ers have been execution at a below average level for this league, where they are currently ranked 20th for total points per game. Their offense is suffering because of their relatively low amount of passing yards per game, which is currently at 212.2 yards per game, ranked 22nd in the league. Kaepernick needs to focus more on passing the ball rather than running the ball, although he has been successful running it, it is an unnecessary danger that he is taking on. If he is hit in the wrong way, his season is over. The running game is led by Gore and Kaepernick. The team averages a total of 138.5 yards per game, which ranks 7th in the league. Gore should fully take over the running game to reduce the exposure of Kaepernick to defenders. The defense has been executing well, but not well enough. On average they have let up .2 more points than the offense could score, which if the gap gets bigger could be a big problem for the team.
