Who to Pick?
The Jets haven't played, especially on offense, to what is required in this league, with the exception of their running game. The Chargers have been able to shut down the offense of many opposing teams. My pick is for the 3-1 Chargers.
The Jets need to step up their game if they want to win anymore games this season. Smith needs to stop throwing interceptions and be able to reach his receiver with both accuracy and speed. Smith has only thrown 4 touchdowns, and also threw 5 interceptions. To be successful in this league, you need at least twice the amount of touchdowns a you do interceptions. Also, with a quarterback rating or 75.1, it is not good enough to impress. The running game on the other hand his played exceptionally. They currently rank 2nd in rushing yards per game with an average of 151.2 yards per game. Their defense has been doing alright, by letting up an average of 24 point per game, but if they don't get this number down, then they will have a hard time winning anymore games this year.
San Diego Chargers
The Chargers have played alright of offense with an average of 351.8 yards per game, not because of their passing, but because of their running. The passing has been great so far this season. Rivers has 9 touchdowns and only 1 interception, which is exceptional. The same can't be said for their running game. They average a wimpy 69.5 yards per game, which currently ranks 31st in the league. The total points per game have been pretty good with an average of 25.5 points per game, which is great considering their defense only lets up an average of 15.8 points per game. Their defense has been on a role this season with a turnover ratio of +5, which indicates a healthy defense. They are in a good position to win this game, especially with the way they have been playing.
